Today I have 3 21st birthday postcards from 1936, all embossed and in very good condition.
The 21st birthday postcards are all very similar; on the back of 2 of the postcards, in small print it reads “This is a Real Hand-Coloured Card”, the 3rd postcard reads “This is a Real Photograph”.
This is the 1st postcard:
This is the 2nd postcard:
This is the 3rd postcard:
This is the back of the 3rd postcard showing the 1936 post mark and stamp. The postcard was posted from Torquay in Devon and sent to Rossendale in Lancashire.
All 3 postcards have an embossed flowery edge and everything on the front is covered with a transparent protective film, which is probably why the postcards are in such a good condition.
There’s probably not much use for these cards to anyone; personally I find it interesting to look at something that’s over 80 years old and wonder about the lives of the sender and recipient.
