My vintage share for today is a cardigan knitting pattern for a child from the 1950’s.
The cardigan knitting pattern, designed by Amanda laine, was produced by wool manufacturers Robert Glew & Co.Ltd., a firm that was based in Harehills, Leeds. If you’re interested in children’s vintage knitting patterns, I’ve posted an earlier leaflet by the same company with knitting instructions for a ‘Buster’ suit.
This is an original scan of the front cover that I’ve re-touched for a cleaner look:
This is the 1st page of the knitting instructions:

For a 1950’s pattern, I don’t think this cardigan would be out of place today; I think it’s delightful and I love the colour.
I’ll be back with another vintage helping soon, school holidays and awkward teenagers permitting!
