Today I’m sharing a Fair Isle jersey pattern from the 1940’s that I acquired as a job lot a few days ago.
The Fair Isle jersey pattern is Bestway leaflet 1594 and shows a fair-haired girl with a ribbon in her hair, wearing the completed garment. The pattern calls for wool manufactured by Sirdar, a spinning company established in 1880, which is still around today and incidentally situated in my hometown of Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
