Today I’m sharing a vintage Dubarry advertisement that I found in a recently purchased 1947 hard-back book.
The book where I found the vintage Dubarry advertisement is a Daily Mail Film Award Annual. I’ll be featuring the book in other posts because there’s a myriad of interesting pages and pictures I’d like to share with you.
The advert shows a picture of a woman using a compact containing Dubarry Face Powder; the product with a tint called Rachel is shown to the right of the woman. The manufacturer Dubarry Perfumery Co. Ltd., is printed at the bottom of the advert with its location of Hove in Sussex.
This is an original scan of the advert:
This is my re-touched version in black and white. You can use this image for your media, art and craft projects:
This was the Dubarry Perfumery company building. The green mosaic mural reads: THE DUBARRY PERFUMERY COMPANY LTD – DUBARRY’S SHALIMAR COMPLEXION CREAM FOR LOVELINESS THAT LASTS.
This is now a mixed-use building containing flats, storage and fitness facilities etc.
